Had a great night at this terrific little haven! It had an amazing atmosphere with candles and plants surrounding you. The fresh waiters and waitresses were incredibly nice and brought our food and drinks quickly! The food was so incredible each item had unique tastes and things that I had never tried before. It all felt very fresh and delicious. An episode of the new Vanderpump Rules season was being filmed so I was able to meet Lisa herself, and overall we had an amazing one of a kind experience.
I've been able to try SUR a fair amount of times and it's always such a fun experience. Recently I got to take my sister and we had a blast! The cocktails are great- hello Pumptini! We ordered the Andria Puglia Burrata salad to start, then shared the spaghetti and meatballs either brussel sprouts on the side. The chilis in the brussel sprouts were a perfect complement. Our waiter was great and tended to our table super well. We were able to get a reservation in advance and had a great table situated towards the back garden area.
A few friends and I decided to stop by Sur for a light brunch and drinks. It was so surreal walking into a place I've seen on TV. The restaurant felt a little smaller than I imagined, but it still had the iconic purple interior we all know and love. The food was delicious, I especially liked the Smoked Fingerling Breakfast Potatoes, and my drink had a nice kick to it. While there our server was nice and attentive, checking on us regularly to make sure we were all set. Overall it was a great experience.
Food and service were excellent! It's a bit of a reality tv Disney world - especially with Vanderpump Rules on the TV on a constant loop. Lean into whatever works - but it was distracting. The strawberry gimlet at happy hour was delicious. The goat balls were worth all the hype. The tuna tartare was not only delicious, but the presentation was beautiful and practical, with the avocado creating a blooming petals affect. This also helped the tartare adhere more easily to the toast. The Caprese was decent. The buffalo mozzarella was the best I've had in years! The tomatoes were fresh and bright, but size differential made the experience less enjoyable. I would have liked slightly more micro greens. The ambiance is nice, if a bit dated, but the tourist trap aspect was distracting. However, the food and drink were good enough to make up for this.
Aabsolutely amazing food, drinks and service would recommend A+ and I was lucky enough to meet the owners who are both so personable the staff and Lisa. Such an awesome experience oh a the lobster mash is a must do!
Sur is a staple in West Hollywood and if you are a Vanderpump fan you know how iconic Sur has been throughout the years with Lisa Vanderpumps restaurants. I have been here several times but shocked I have never left a review. You can definitely tell some areas look dated in the restaurant as it's been around 10 plus years but it's still gorgeous. If you can request back patio seating in the greenhouse area it's absolutely stunning. The bar area is a bit dated but still a good time! The drinks are solid here for the most part. I love the big pinky, it's light but packs a punch. Of course they have the goat cheese balls down to a science and they are a star of the show. In previous dine ins I loved the enchiladas and the tacos. Overall, service has always been on point from servers to bartenders. You may also get lucky and see some pump cast mates!
I have been here a few times as a VPR fan and am always excited to go back! The first time I went was on a Friday night at 8pm with a group of girls. We were seated front and center and got to hang out with Peter which was super fun. The drinks were great and super creative! This last time, I went on a Wednesday right when they opened and took my boyfriend and his brother. We were seated at a casual table towards the back and dined in. The lasagna was amazing and so was the caprese salad! We also all got desserts- I am gluten free and loved the panna cotta! Unfortunately the goat cheese balls are not gluten free, but maybe someday. The pumptini was lovely and I was grateful to our waitress for helping me choose the right drink since I was torn between so many of them. Really fun ambiance, kind staff, and amazing vibes!
